Gate777 Celebrates 2 Years Via €10K Slot Tournament & Trip to Switzerland
In February, Gate777 marked just over 2 years in operation with a €10,000 prize pool. Its new ‘Destination Switzerland’ tournament invited players to compete using ANY slot game.
Running from 6 to 26 February, this unusual slot contest was already underway when the announcement appeared.
The tournament set aside half of its prize pool for the winner, who could select €5,000 in cash or an all-inclusive return trip to Zurich, Switzerland.
To enter, players had to deposit at least €50.00 by mobile or desktop, then visit the casino’s slots and play to qualify automatically for the slot race.
Unlike promotions restricted to selected titles, this contest awarded points for ANY slot, allowing players to move up Gate777’s ‘Destination Switzerland’ video slot tournament standings.
Eligible titles included Book of Dead, Jungle Spirit and Starburst, alongside games from providers including 1x2 Gaming, Ainsworth, Barcrest, BTG, Play’n Go, Thunderkick, Microgaming and NetEnt. The announcement said a wager of every Euro on any spin counted, regardless of game or software provider.
Each €1.00 staked on spin bets earns 1 point. Your Gate777 account keeps a running score, allowing you to follow your position and choose when to make an unexpected entry on Gate777’s ‘Destination Switzerland’ tournament leaderboard.
The €10,000 pool was allocated across eight prize levels for the leaderboard’s top 25 players:
- Top Prize: A return trip to Zurich, Switzerland, or €5,000 in cash
- Second Place: €2,500
- Third Place: €1,000
- Fourth Place: €450
- Fifth Place: €350
- Sixth to Tenth: €75
- Eleventh to Twentieth: €25
- Twenty-first to Twenty-Fifth: €15
Players aiming for a prize needed to reach one of the top 25 places shown on the tournament promotion page.
Reaching the leaderboard was only part of the challenge: players had to keep spinning to defend their position as other competitors tried to pass them on points.
The tournament winners were due to be announced on 27 February. The top prize winner could travel to Switzerland within 30 days of winning. It was described as one of the best slots races seen in a long time.
