Pragmatic Play Releases New Video Slot Mysterious with a Ghostly Victorian Theme
Fans of unsettling ghost stories may find a fitting setting in Pragmatic Play’s Mysterious, a new 4-reel slot built around 4096 ways-to-win.
Mysterious arrived in February and places its story in the 19th-century Victorian era. Rather than offering a straightforward historical backdrop, Pragmatic Play gives the slot an eerie atmosphere, with supernatural features and a reel layout that can grow during play.
Mysterious opens with 4 reels set against a mist-shrouded Victorian cityscape, establishing its spectral atmosphere. During play, the reels may expand from a 4x4 arrangement offering 243-ways-to-win to a 6x4 layout with 4096-ways-to-win.
The aim is to find the ‘The Lord’, The Lady’, and ‘The Baron’ wild symbols. These can create winning combinations and activate features that spread across the reels, including 2x and 3x multipliers, expanding symbols and wilds that infect neighbouring reels.
The effects are framed as spooky, but each wild symbol feature can produce several wins from one spin, giving the game’s supernatural moments a potentially rewarding twist.
A scatter symbol can award 8 to 12 free spins, offering another route to multiple wins. During the free spins bonus, the layout grows from 4 reels to 6 reels, opening up 4096-ways-to-win. ‘The Lord’, The Lady’, and ‘The Baron’ wild symbols remain active in this round.
The free spins round also features roaming wilds that can fade away and reappear in a random reel position. Their return may help build winning combinations as the feature continues.
A separate locking multiplier feature is tied to a gold Victorian clock. When it lands and strikes 12, random multipliers from 3x to 12x apply to the combined value of winning combinations. Resurrected wilds on the reels could add further combinations to a spin.
Mysterious was the fourth Pragmatic Play video slot announced for February, after Master Joker, Super 7s, and El Dorado The City of Gold. Golden Beauty was slated as the fifth release for the end of February. The studio also had three online slots earmarked for March: Aztec Bonanza, The Wild Machine, and Dance Party.
